At work I am particularly interested in caring for patients with dementia and I  am responsible for the medicines management of the practice. My free time is  spent competing and eventing with my horse, and walking our dog in the peaks.

Dr Cox has been with the practice since 1985 and has a special interest Paediatrics and Men`s Health.

I have a  special interest in cancer and end of life care. I continue to work as a  Macmillan GP for the local health community in a strategic role and teaching. 

Dr Angela Parry (Usually at Tideswell) (Female)

Dr Parry has an interest in paediatrics, and women's health, she also is able to do INR checks.

In the practice my interests are musculoskeletal medicine (joints and muscles),  minor operations, and in being a doctor of broad interest. I am involved in  medico-politics and am the Chairman of the Derbyshire Local Medical Committee

In the practice I am interested in cardiology, diabetes and have been involved  with our resuscitation procedures in the practice. 

 

Dr Graham Todd  (Usually at Bakewell) (Male)

 MBChB, BMedSci, DCH, (PGCE), MRCGP 

"I studied medicine in Sheffield, graduating in 1994. After working in a variety of hospitals, mainly in A&E departments, and training to teach, I started GP training in Winchester in 2000, qualifying in 2003.

I enjoy walking, badminton and music and am also involved in a local church.

I worked in the High Peak for  7 years before joining Bakewell Medical Centre in 2012. My interests include GP support and education, minor surgery and anticoagulation."

 

Foundation Year 2 Training Doctor

As a training practice we have qualified doctors who, after their initial training, feel they would like to train to be a GP.

These qualified doctors are known as F2 doctors.

The F2 doctor comes to the practice for four months and is trained by Dr Cox. The F2 has a planned induction to the Practice and Staff which helps them get a good idea as to what happens in the practice. It is very important that they spend time with all the Doctors, the Practice Nurses and the Community Nursing Team.


The F2 also spends time with the Dispensary and Admin Staff and with the Practice Manager

Mrs Carol Lacey - Patient Services Manager for Tideswell and Bakewell Surgery
(Female)

As Patient Services Manager Carol works closely with Nick Derbyshire to keep the practices running successfully and financially.  She works on the accounts and claims which are made for services we provide such as Flu, pneumonia and baby vaccines.  Enhanced Service clinics such as Anti Coagulation, Unplanned Admissions, Cardio Vascular risks, Implants, Sexual Health, Smoking Cessation etc. are monitored by her.

Carol also works with the GPs, nurses and admin staff to create their work rotas.  Carol makes sure that communication, resource and staffing continue with the high standard achieved.

Mrs Karen Ollerenshaw - Practice Nurse

Karen has been with the practice for many years and has a great deal of experience in Chronic Disease Management. She works closely with Greta, Clare and with the Health Care Assistants.

Mrs Susan Lomas-Fletcher - Senior Office Administrator/Dispenser
(Female)

Susan is the senior reception manager, she manages the training of new administration staff at the surgery.

Susan is a long standing employee and is experienced in working on reception, preparing repeat prescriptions, admin and dispensing.  She also recalls patients who need to be seen by the nurse for a specialist clinic.

Mrs Andrea Howe - Pharmacy Technician

Andrea is a Pharmacy Technician.  Andrea also trains staff who progress into the dispensing line.

Andrea is an experienced member of staff who has been with the practice for many years.  She is a long standing employee and is experienced in working preparing repeat prescriptions, admin and dispensing.  

Miss Ruth Simmons - Team Supervisor/Dispenser

Ruth has the role of Team supervisor. To help her with her role she has taken part in training, such as "Friend to Supervisor" "Leadership and Management Skills" and has completed an NVQ in "Team leading for Healthcare Professionals".

 

Mrs Carly Webster - Office Administrator/Dispenser
(Female)

Carly is a long standing employee and is experienced in working in reception, preparing prescriptions and dispensing medication. She also recalls patients who need to be seen by the nurse for a specialist clinic.

Carly has achieved her NVQ level 2 in dispensing.

Mrs Jackie West - Office Administrator/Dispenser
(Female)

Jackie is a long standing employee and is experienced in working in reception, preparing prescriptions and dispensing medication. She also recalls patients who need to be seen by the nurse for a specialist clinic.

Jackie has achieved her NVQ level 2 in dispensing.

Mrs Nicola Tricklebank - Office Administrator/Health Care Assistant
(Female)

Nicky is a long standing employee and is experienced in working in reception, preparing prescriptions and dispensing medication.

She is involved with typing referral letters to hospitals and is also a Patient Choice Facilitator and can help you decide which hospital you can go to when you are referred by the Doctor. She can also make you the appointment.

Nicky has achieved her NVQ level 2 in dispensing.

Nicky is also Health Care Assistant and holds clinics on Thursday and Friday mornings where she does blood tests, blood pressures, physiological measurements, 24 Hour BP's and ECGs. 

Miss Abbie Carter - Office Administrator/Health Care Assistant
(Female)

Abbie is an administrator. She is employed on a full time basis and has acheived NVQ Level 2 and 3 Business and Administration.  Abbie is experienced in working on reception and admin.  She also recalls patients who need to be seen by the nurse for a specialist clinic.

Abbie has achieved her level 2 dispensing assistant.

During a recent change in staff Abbie showed an interest in becoming a Phlebotomist and has since been trained and is fully competent holding clinics Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. 

Abbie is also a Health Care Assistantand holds clinics on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday, she does blood tests, blood pressures, 24 Hour BPs, Health Checks, physiological measurements and ECG's.

Mrs Sally Dobson - Office Administrator/Dispenser

Sally is an administrator, but also trained to carry out other duties, such as preparing repeat prescriptions, admin, arranging appointments for 24hr BP monitor.  She also recalls patients who need to be seen by the nurse for a specialist clinic.

Miss Samantha Bradbury - Office Administrator
(Female) 

Sam is an administrator, she also recalls patients who need to be seen by the nurse for a specialist clinic.

Ms Carole Yates - Office Administrator
(Female) 

Carole is our newest member of staff, she is based mainly in reception and familiarising herself with administration duties to expand her role

Mrs Sally Loftus - District Nurse
(Female)

Sally has worked with the practice for several years and works out in the Community with patients who are housebound.

She also works very closely with the Macmillan Nurses for patients who are terminally ill.

 

Mrs Nichola Townsend - Advanced Community Support Worker
(Female)

Nichola is part of the Community Nursing Team and works closely with Sally and Sian.  She is very supportive to the Team, visiting housebound patients, taking bloods, blood pressures dressings and making sure the patients are getting the best service.

Jane Richardson - Health Visitor

We now have Jane assigned as Health Visitor for Tideswell Surgery.

You may remember Jane as our previous Midwife, and we are now lucky to have her back with as in her new position.
