The Midwife is based at Darley Dale Birth Centre and information can be obtained from them on 01629 593019. The midwife also carries out clinics at the surgery on an alternate Tuesday afternoon, please call the surgery to book an appointment.
These are appointed only with the Practice Nurse or Doctor.
Chronic Disease Management
Patients who suffer from a chronic disease like asthma, haeart disease, raised blood pressure, learning disabilities and mental health will be reviewed annually or biannualy if necessary. Medication is monitored closely follwing their specific guidelines
The Citizens Advice Bureau attend the surgery on Wednesday afternoon - please contact the surgery for an appointment
Supports patients and their families who suffer with long term medical conditions implementing Right Care Plans and liaising with other necessary agencies.
Referrals can be made via the doctor or nurse to counselling services in the practice. You can self refer by completing a form from reception.
We work closely with Dales Community Services who have a team of nurses who visit housebound patients for assessment of needs, which can include: Dressings/Blood tests/BP/ Catheters/Dopplers/Palliative care/flu vaccines.
If you need medication in an emergency and this is out of the surgery hours please contact Out Of Hours by dialling 111. If you attend the surgery when the chemist is closed, emergency medication can be dispensed.

Health Care Assistants/Phlebotomist
Carry out blood tests, blood pressure, height and weight and BMI calculations, Pulse observations, ECG and 24 hour Blood pressure monitoring..

We hold a full service of Immunisations, including seasonal flu, childhood immunisations, pneumococcal, shingles, pertusis etc
The Doctors and Practice Nurses carry out INR and Warfarin management at the practice. The system means that patients get immediate results when they attend the clinic. Home visits are arranged for housebound patients
Support patients and their families in conjunction with other agencies, such as Macmillan Nursing Service and community nursing.
A physiotherapist attends the Surgery twice a week. Referrals can be made by a GP or self-referral to the Drop in Clinic for single advice session, ask at reception for appointments.
